A quiet time spent at the temple

Seki Zenko-ji Temple

Sokyu is located within the grounds of Seki Zenko-ji Temple, directly in front of the temple building.

Seki Zenko-ji Temple has a history of over 400 years.

It is closely connected to the famous Zenko-ji Temple in Nagano and is affectionately known by locals as the “Bell Temple.” Even today, it attracts many worshipers from both near and far.

Inside the main hall, visitors can experience the traditional Kaidan Meguri pilgrimage.

By walking through a completely dark passage beneath the altar and touching the sacred key, it is said that one forms a spiritual connection with the Buddha.

The Kaidan Meguri at Seki Zenko-ji Temple is especially unique, featuring a complex manji-shaped layout, offering a rare and deeply spiritual experience.

The room features a spacious, traditional Japanese design with two connected tatami rooms, each measuring six tatami mats. The calm, minimalist atmosphere reflects classic Japanese aesthetics.

Surrounded by the gentle sounds of temple bells and rustling trees, you can enjoy a luxurious and peaceful stay, far removed from the noise and busyness of everyday life.

As the accommodation is limited to one group per day, guests can relax in a completely private and exclusive space, ensuring a truly tranquil experience.

The open terrace offers a relaxing outdoor space where you can enjoy a clear view of the star-filled night sky.

Spend quiet moments gazing at the stars, feeling the gentle breeze, and letting your mind wander.

Surrounded by the sounds of birdsong and nature, the terrace provides a peaceful atmosphere that helps you forget the busyness of everyday life.

Each room is equipped with a traditional Japanese hinoki (cypress) bath.

Please note that this is not a hot spring, but a private bath exclusively for our guests, allowing you to relax in complete privacy.

Enjoy a peaceful bathing experience in a quiet, private space, surrounded by the gentle, natural aroma of hinoki wood.

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience Japan’s calming bathing culture while fully relaxing both body and mind.
